one of the many reasons i love my house is the built-in outdoor dining space i added, which makes it ideal for summer soirees. it’s been a while since we’ve had a girl’s night here, so as a brand ambassador for Blue Diamond Crafted Gourmet Almonds, i decided it was high time we gathered for a warm-weather night of sharing delicious food, drinks and good times al fresco. Blue Diamond Almonds provided me with a selection of their new and very delicious Crafted Gourmet Almonds and i gave the task of creating a beautiful almond, cheese and charcuterie platter to the sisters extraordinaire Sorella Collective. they created a culinary masterpiece featuring the Blue Diamond Crafted Gourmet Almonds — using a sustainable wood plank, these talented food artisans start from the center of the board and build out using all four flavors of almonds– Pink Himalayan Salt, Black Truffle, Rosemary and Sea Salt, and Garlic Herb and Olive Oil, and then add a mix of olives, cured meats, delicious cheeses, honey, and fruit creating a masterpiece that paired so deliciously with the almonds. It was almost too pretty to eat, but alas (poor us!) everything was entirely too divine not to devour and it all quickly disappeared along with a light, fresh fruit rosé sangria i added to the mix.
With the skins removed, the almonds have such a smooth texture and nutty crunch, the perfect complement to a variety of both savory and sweet foods, or both, which is my personal favorite — a little sweet, and little salty and i’m a happy girl. Roasted, lightly oiled and seasoned, they’re great for sharing at parties or for stashing in your bag for snacking on the go when you may need that little boost of delicious tasting protein to get you through the busy day. what a fun night sharing with good friends — my favorite kind of summer soiree!
